For a tourist brochure, about the monthly Antiques Fair in Arezzo:
It seems the only possible place visitors/tourists can go is "around" the palaces, so, this is not the ground floor interior. Any other (better) translations?

grounds, estate
Hi
Surely this is the plural of "fondo" meaning "land". This seems to fit the context and could perhaps be translated "grounds".
Cheers

Ciao Silvia. Non c'è nulla di cui dispiacersi. Figuriamoci. I was in a hurry when I answered and failed to notice the incongruity between centro storico and grounds. Thanks for the infomation ( I hope I have not led the asker astray).

It is only a tourist brochure not an engineering document, it has to attract tourists, not pass a university exam on architecture.

the palace walls
You specify that tourists can go "around" the buildings, not inside, so based on your explanation, this is what I would say.

nota, not for points

Note from asker:
Thanks Silvia! That's very helpful. |
