Although this is slightly tricky stuff, I would say that "corsa" should be translated "stroke" since we are referring to, presumably, hydraulic (possibly pneumatic) rams of some sort - your text clearly mentions the movement of piston rods (steli). It seems that the timing (I think "refasamento" would be "timing" in this context) system is designed to assure that those actuators that are required to work in unison all reach their stroke end positions (rather extending incompletely) simultaneously. Although the Italian refers to "azzeramento" I suspect that the word "zero" is not strictly relevant here.
