valve element stem
Hi
The filling valve contains an element that opens or closes the flow of liquid to the container. The rear part of the element has the shape of a rod and is usually called a stem. Sometimes an "otturatore" is called a "shutter" but I think this is incorrect in your context although your manufacturer may be happier with this term because it is a more typical translation.
Cheers

: Seems a solid, safe answer. In gas reduction systems otturatori are plugs or obturators. Remember you are looking for a term that regulates, reduces but not totally closes flow. My experience is gas, sorry!

Thanks Graham - why regulates or reduces? In my experience of hydraulic systems an otturatore opens or closes the passage completely rather than partially. On a filling system the valves feature open/closed type operation.
