Italian term

infermiere di base

Italian to English Medical Medical (general) Medical aid to developing countries
Hi folks
Slightly tricky here. I have:
"Con la possibilità data dal governo, di riaprire la scuola d’infermiere ausiliario (nuova fraseologia per indicare l’infermiere di base)"
Now, for the "ausiliario" I'm going for "auxiliary nurse" without bothering too much about the niceties, being a bit of a rough and ready translator who is not to be trusted - especially with the deadlines I keep getting - but I wonder what the basic version is?
TIA
Derek

Hi Derek - is that Rock&Roll ... just saw your group - beats translating eh? Anyway, late night sessions with Holby City and Casualty on Beeb Prime are unbeatable for keeping your live English alive!

As opposed to a specialist nurse working in paediatrics, orthopaedics, gynae and things of that ilk.

Greetings oh rough and ready!

General of course - apart from the good fit in this case, it's a good word but shy, so it never appears when it's needed. As for the R&R - I kid you not! Thanks also to celiacp, who has meantime disappeared. Maximum Derek"
