Hi Yolanda, I'm afraid this is out of context so I can't give any, but your suggestions are very helpful. Would I be right in saying that this could mean "I'll hang around there until he comes"?

Do you have any more context/ this could mean to punch in or just sit and wait for this person like a flat tire.

It means that he will wait there for him (i thin in castilian spanish an equivalent would be "plantarse" like a plant...just an idea...
