French term

sincérité du prix

French to English Bus/Financial Real Estate proxy contract for sale of property
This is involving sales contract of real estate. I would like the legal or business translation. I could write "price sincerity", but it doesn't sound right.

French term (edited): sincerite du prix
Selected

genuine price/cost

I don't know the full context, but it could be along the lines of "genuine price". I would definitely NOT translate the original as "sincerity of price" as it means nothing. Hope this helps. A+

agree ACOZ (X) : Yes. It means that there have not been any under-the-table payments. VAT is paid on the sale price so declaring a lower price would mean less VAT. However, this is illegal.

French term (edited): sincrit du prix

fair price or fair value of the price

I only propose this because property pricing can be a bit subjective. That is, it depends on the market conditions, location, etc. It is hard to really know what the "genuine" or "true" price is. So this is just a suggestion that incorporates the subjectiveness.

disagree Buzzy : As ACOZ says above, it's a statement that the declared price in the contract is the actual price changing hands, with nothing on the side to avoid taxes - whether or not the price is fair, which as you say is pretty subjective!

Yes, now that ACOZ has posted his comment, I understand what is meant. Thanks.
