Just a hunch, going down the partnership 'with natural law status' vs. body corporate route, though I can't find any authority for the proposition.
BTW, the Beatles Pop Group from the 1960s were deemed in law such an 'informal partnership' rather than an officially registered one - registration possible as a 'business name' in those days, but no longer.

No peer comments as yet, but an 'unincorporated association' - usually a charity - also occurred to me. 'An unincorporated association is not a legal entity. It is an organisation of two or more persons who are the members of the association.'
