Portuguese term

espera criminal

This is from Brasil. Although I've found some references to "espera criminal" in Portuguese on the Net, I can't get a handle on what this actually means in English. Is it while awaiting a criminal trial or just some sort of investigative period? Thanks.

"esfera" it is Yes, you're right. It is a typo for "esfera". Thanks!
Marlene Curtis Jun 5, 2012:

(in) criminal proceedings

Espera is a typo for esfera. In this context, criminal sphere means little in EN and is at best vague, while the meaning in PT, in this context, is clear, i.e. criminal proceedings.
