The full sentence is
徐変(例えば稜線をR50で丸めて、終端部800mmミリの間にR50をR20に変化させる、など)処理などは、各部寸法を細かく指示するより、造形のねらいや意図を伝えて、アレンジは作業者にまかせてしまう方が美しく仕上がることが多い。

The context is the use of steel in manufacturing train cars and the advantages and disadvantages of working with that material. I have no idea what R50 etc. refer to either.

「徐変」の「徐」は徐々に由来していると思うので、稜線の断面形状を徐々に変化するという意味に使われているようです。ちなみにR50、R20のRはRADIUS (半径)を指しています。

Processing of gradual change

I am not sure whether I got it right, but, in my opinion, if it was "process", it would rather have been 過程。処理would rather refer to something being processed, being handled, not something going on.
Although, judging from your context, it seems like you can actually use both translations...
