German term

Mrd 3

Homework / test German to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) money growth report
In a review of national money growth.
e.g. 166 Mrd 3 oder knapp 4 1/2%. I'm clear that Milliard is a US billion or thousand million, but don't understand the use of the 3 after. Does it refer to US dollars? I've also come across Mrd 5. I'm pretty sure it's not simply short for 300 million as I've found 9,5 Mrd 3 as well.

Help appreciated!

It doesn't matter at all. A Euro-sign is also plausible.
Non-ProZ.com Sep 6, 2004:
I've just stumbled across the original on the web and it seems the 3 should be a . Somehow the original sign turned into a number 3 when it was e-mailed to me! Not a missing comma after all! Im grateful for the speedy replies but sorry can't award any points!

Ja, auch ganz deutschlich wird es.

It is already settled. The original for 3 should be the Euro-sign. Thanks, anyway.
