German term

Kraftwinder

German to English Tech/Engineering Automation & Robotics
Any idea what a 'Kraftwinder' is in this robot manipulator?

Further reading Having read some of the material that Cillie shared, I see that this is more than just a torque; it is a system of force and torque vectors. I found the term "wrench," which is also used in the context of robotics, so I proposed it as well.
Jonathan Spencer (asker) Oct 25, 2021:
Thanks for the suggestions. For more context, the term comes up once more later on.

Hey Jonathan! Could this be what you're looking for? I googled power coils

agree philgoddard : Or screw - as my reference in the discussion entries shows, Kraftwinde and Kraftschraube are synonyms. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/german-to-english/mechanics-mech-e...

torque

Think it might simply be torque.

agree Darin Fitzpatrick : Looks right to me. Never heard the term, seems old-fashioned, but that's the meaning I get from your sources.
