: Aunque caiga en saco roto, estoy convencido de que esta traducción es incorrecta. Si miramos el documento original en "http://www.wainhouse.com/files/wrb-09/WRB-0928.pdf", podemos ver en las fotos que un mismo códec admite tres cámaras.1 códec para 3 cáms

Busqué en Internet el manual en cuestión y creo que aquí han querido ahorrarse demasiado espacio, y abreviaron demasiado.
El sistema de alta gama (Conference 200) funciona igual que los anteriores, pero es capaz de codificar/decodificar la señal obtenida de tres cámaras funcionando simultáneamente, cuando la mayoría admiten cámaras duales, como máximo.

Sin duda. Yo simplemente preferí la opción más larga porque "códec" está demasiado asociado con software (los de vídeo y audio), y en este caso es software.

Como les dije, totalmente de acuerdo, "códec" me parece igualmente válido. Por cierto, en mi anterior nota me equivoqué, quise decir al final que en este caso es hardware, no sólo software. Maldita limitación de espacio :-)
