Till en början delar man upp loppen i två kategorier. Lopp som sker på rundbanan på en friidrottsarena och lopp som sker utanför en arena, till exempel marathonlopp.

events Right, been there. Simgrenar all weekend long 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 freestyle, etc. For many years with the kids. One is still doing it as a coach.
But yeah, hill repeats, and intervals are especially fun. ;-)

types of running events: Apparently there are at least 6 different types of running events: Sprints, Middle distance, Long distance, Steeplechase, Hurdles, and Relays -- and eight basic types of runs: i.a. Recovery Run, Base Run, Long Run, Tempo Run, Hill Repeats, and Intervals
