This fabric is placed on a table and screen printed using a series of ten consecutive screens to print each colour of the pattern. The next stage is the hyperbolic crowning glory of the process, where the supporting weft is unwoven and the newly printed warp is remounted on another loom for the final weave. The operation to remount these numerous warp threads onto the loom, each through its own heddle, before reconstructing the fabric, causes the very slight tensions in the warp lap that produce the incomparable "ikat effect" which further highlights the glints of the silk.
