French term
température contenue
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Mechanics / Mech Engineering
This is from a document on how to reduce emissions from vehicles, in a section on diesel particulate filters. The client is based in France, not sure who the target audience is.
There is tons of technical jargon that I've mostly been able to figure out online, but not quite sure of the term "température continue." Here is the sentence with a little context:
"Le point délicat est l’élimination des particules retenues par le filtre. Il est en effet nécessaire de brûler régulièrement les suies afin d’éviter leur accumulation et d’exiger une température trop élevée. Il est donc fait appel à un deuxième procédé d’oxydation catalytique facilitant la combustion à **une température contenue.**"
I'm not familiar with 'contenue' used in that sense, and poking around online didn't yield any certainty. The best I could come up with is "controlled temperature," since I'm not sure that 'contained' works in this sense. I found "self-contained" relating to systems and containers, not sure if that applies here.
Can anyone confirm this or propose something else?

Constant doesn't necessarily mean to a degree. It could also be taken to be a temperature not above x and not below y
Discussion
It's a typo - whether it is the simple "continue" or the more complex "constante" is guesswork. Is the text full of typos ?
And I don't go for "moderate" either.
