heart axis falls between +30° and -30°
Explanation:
The approach for determining heart axis is slightly different in Germany versus England or US, so that different breakpoints result for the axis ranges. The "Linkstyp" has an axis between -30° and +30°, whereas the "left axis deviation" denotes an axis between 0° and -90°. (See references below in comparison).

A "Linkstyp" in an adult patient would be considered prima vista as a normal ECG by a German doctor, while a "left axis deviation" would probably prompt an English or American doctor to look for other cardiac abnormalities.

-> Thank you, Patricia! - I take it from your references that there are already two misleading entries on that in the Glossary :-(( // Oops - blush :-o

agree  Lirka: You are right; that's very precise. In fact, left axis deviation would be, strictly speaking, "ueberdrehter Linkstyp". Agree?

-> Yes, LAD comes closer to an "überdrehter Linkstyp", but also includes a range of "Linkstyp" (0°-30°). We used to call this range (0°-30°) which may or may not be pathological, "starker Linkstyp", but I am not sure if that is official medical terminology.
