A job title from a list of positions at a film museum. Others include directeur, directeur adjoint, conservateur, conservateur technique, and projets spéciaux.

Provisioning? Sounds too business-y to my ear, but can't think of anything else at the moment.

  -> Thanks Katsy, and yes, I think you're right, the list FFoodies gives in the note above makes it look like she's on secondment at the museum from somewhere else.
agree  rkillings: 'Secondment' alone works, so long as you don't have to distinguish between MAD (stays of payroll of sending entity) and détachement (moves to payroll of receiving entity).

Asker: Thanks Drmanu49. Now I realise I should have mentioned that the text has a list of staff members' names with their job titles in brackets. So we have Mr XYZ (mise a disposition). It's in a description of the museum, so I believe it's the actual job title, and not announcing that the job is available.

Asker: But there *is* a name there! I'm sorry if I'm being thick, but I don't understand how the position can be available if there is someone listed with that position... :-(

She may be from an agency, released from other duties in the same organisation etc

Explanation:
in a context : les clès de l'appartement seront mise a votre disposition dès signature. or..".Les clès : mise a disposition de suite." So, the keys can be had as soon as the papers are signed. This is everyday french. By the way, "an available job/post" is usually "poste a pouvour le 15 juin" for example.
