Source text - Albanian Gjithmone e kam patur enderr e mall te vija ne Shqiperi dhe kete me shume kenaqesi e kam realizuar pas vitit 1990 kur Shqiperia u shkeput nga ai veteizolim gjysmeshekullor i saj. E lindur dhe e edukuar ne Shtetet e Bashkuara te Amerikes, per mua kane qene te huaja e te panjohura si konceptet komuniste ashtu dhe ato monarkiste. Per te qene e sinqerte, me gjithe mallin e nostalgjine qe kisha, ne viziten time te pare, u ndjeva keq kur pashe nje vend te varfer, shumicen e kohes pa drita e pa uje, me nje infrastrukture shume te prapambetur dhe kete me vinte rende t’ju a tregoja miqve te mij amerikane pas kthimit. Por tashme ky realitet ka ndryshuar ne menyre te pakrahasueshme. Gjate gjithe ketyre viteve dhe vizitave te shumta konstatoj me shume kenaqesi progresin dhe ndryshimet e medha te Shqiperise dhe ky nuk eshte vetem konstatimi im personal sepse ma kane thene edhe amerikane te tjere qe kane qene ne Shqiperi. Gjithashtu i ndjek ne menyre te vazhdueshme (nepermjet internetit) te gjitha zhvillimet e situaten e vendit dhe kjo ben qe ta ndjej veten gjithmone e me shume shqipetare. E vetmja dobesi qe ndjej eshte se nuk e zoteroj gjuhen shqipe (me perjashtim te pak fjaleve te mesuara qe ne vogeli) e per pasoje nuk munda tja u mesoj femijeve te mij. Por asnjehere nuk eshte vone.	Translation - English All my life, I dreamt and longed for to visit Albania. This dream to my great contentment was realized after the year 1990 when Albania left behind half a century of self isolation. For a person like me, who was born and educated in United States of America, the communist and monarchist concepts were unknown and foreign. During my first trip, to tell the truth and to be sincere, in spite of all the nostalgia and longing I had, I felt unhappy when I found a poor country, most of the time without water and power, with a very worn out and backward infrastructure and I felt embarrassed to tell about this reality to my American friends when I returned. However, today that reality does not exist and things have changed without any comparison. During my frequent visits to Albania in all these years, I view with pleasure the great improvements and big changes, and further more this is not a personal reflection. This opinion has been confirmed by many other Americans who have been to Albania. I follow regularly (through the internet) all the events in the country and every passing day I feel more and more Albanian. My only weak point is that I don't have command of the Albanian language (with the exception of few words learned when I was young) and as result I could not teach the language to my children. But never is too late.
